Urges to smoke

In the first few days and weeks of stopping, urges to smoke can be very strong and can happen often.

Although you may be tempted to give in and have ‘just one’ – don’t. The only way to reduce urges is not to smoke at all. These urges to smoke will pass and can be controlled by using aids such as NRT or medication.

As long as you don’t smoke after your quit date, the urges will subside and become less frequent.
